Stepanek quickly gathered himself, and immediately began to pressure Ginepri on his service games. Stepanek let out a shout and clenched his fist after earning a break to go up 4-3. From that point on, the Czech made few mistakes and tracked down everything Ginepri threw at him.

Ginepri was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and graduated from Joseph Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia. Ginepri currently lives in Acworth, Georgia where he owns the Olde Town Athletic Club. His father, Rene, who is originally from Luxembourg, is a systems analyst and his mother, Nancy, is a second grade teacher.

Ginepri is always going to earn his paycheck from the baseline, but he needs to be more confident attacking the net. “The fact that he won Newport [on grass courts in 2003] shows he’s capable of coming forward,†DeVries says. To make Ginepri comfortable in transition, DeVries will feed a rally ball that Ginepri hits with a ground stroke, followed by a short ball for an approach, and finish with a volley. The idea is to do it perfectly five to 10 times in a row so Ginepri leaves the court feeling positive about his transition game.

Everyone, including Ginepri, assumed he was on the verge of breaking into the Top 10 and contending for Grand Slam titles on a regular basis. Instead, he unraveled, lost his confidence, and plummeted in the rankings.

This will be the second time this year that Andy and Robby have united for the doubles cause. They played together in Miami and made it to the second round before Ginepri had to withdraw.

Ginepri was aggravated by Wawrinka's slow pace of play, and his bathroom break before the fifth, but he was able to look on the positive side afterward. "I'm definitely pleased with the amount of effort I put in in the weeks leading up to this event," Ginepri said. "Tonight was the test for me, but I can take some good things out of it."
