Robbie Buhl: Seasons
built 276 days ago
Streak buster: Robbie Buhl, color commentator for the Indy Pro Series telecasts, knows all about five-race winning streaks. Buhl was the driver who ended Greg Moore’s five-race streak in Indy Lights in 1995. Ironically, Moore’s streak began in Miami and ended in Milwaukee – the sites of Alex Lloyd’s first and fifth wins this season. Buhl defeated Moore at Belle Isle to end the streak.

In Saturday's first race, BonillaĆ¢€™s second place finish to winner Jay Cochran (who, by the way, raced and won in the Barber Pro Series against the likes of Robbie Buhl, Rob Wilson and Justin Bell) technically clinched the driverĆ¢€™s championship. On Sunday, Bonilla capped the 12-race season with a convincing victory, his seventh of the year.

Buhl, a longtime veteran of the open-wheel racing industry, has first-hand knowledge of the quality of work carried out by ATW employees. He won an Indy Lights championship in 1992 on Firestone tires and competed for nine seasons in the IRL IndyCar Series in a Firestone-equipped car. After retiring from the driver’s seat in 2004, Buhl now commits himself full-time to his role as a co-owner of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.

Buhl will return for his fourth season providing analysis after retiring from driving in the IndyCar Series in April 2004 after 78 starts that included two victories and 30 top-10 finishes. He remains a co-owner of Dreyer and Reinbold Racing and is the national spokesman for Racing For Kids.
