4. Road to Perdition
   The film's title, Road to Perdition, is both the destination town of Michael Sullivan (Tom Hanks) and his son and ... a euphemism for Hell, a road that Sullivan desires to keep his son from traveling. The character Sullivan, who chooses his violent path early on in life, considers himself irredeemable and seeks to save his son from a similar fate. Asked director Sam Mendes, "[Sullivan] is in a battle for the soul of his son. Can a man who has led a bad life achieve redemption through his child?"[18] Hanks described his character as a man who achieved a comfortable status through violent means, of which he had ignored the likely repercussions. When Sullivan is faced with the consequences, Hanks says, "At the moment we're dropped into the story, it is literally the last day of that false perspective."[1] To keep Hanks' character from justifying his violent actions in the film, Mendes left out scenes in the final cut that had Sullivan explaining to his son about his background.[2]
5. Bandung -- Road
   Other popular sports in Bandung include badminton and basketball. The roads leading up to Lembang and Dago are popular routes for mountain cycling during the weekend. In the hillside around Bandung, there are a couple of golf courses.
6. Jakarta -- Roads
   Jakarta's roads are notorious for undisciplined driver behavior; transportation laws are broken with impunity and police bribery is commonplace. The painted lines on the road are regarded as mere suggestions as vehicles often travel four or five abreast on a typical two-lane road. It is not uncommon to encounter a vehicle traveling the wrong direction in a given traffic flow. Furthermore, in recent years the number of motorcycles on the streets has been growing almost exponentially. The vast sea of small, 100-200cc motorcycles, many of which have 2-stroke motors, create much of the traffic, noise and air pollution that plague Jakarta.
7. Motorcycle -- Roads
   A MOTORCYCLE driver died when his motorcycle collided with an L-300 van 8 a.m. yesterday along the National Highway, Diversion Road, Matina Pangi. The driver, based on his license, was Orlando Antonio, 39, of Purok 2, Sur. The van driver was Stanley Basilio.
8. Road Transport
   The first forms of Road Transport were horses or oxen carrying goods over dirt tracks that often followed game trails. As commerce increased, the tracks were often flattened or widened to accomidate the activities. With the advent of the Roman Empire, there was a need for armies to be able to travel quickly for one area to another, and the roads that existed were often muddy, which greatly delayed the movement of large masses of troops. To resolve this issue, the Romans built great roads. The Roman roads used deep roadbeds of crushed stone as a underlaying layer to insure that they kept dry, as the water would flow out from the crushed stone, instead of becoming mud in clay soils. The legions made good time on these roads and some are still used millennia later.

10. Silk Road
    One of the richest of the Silk Road musical traditions is folk music, which varies widely with the religious, linguistic, and cultural background of the musicians. The singers often use a technique called melisma, in which the singer sings one syllable of taxing several notes, as Gregorian chant. Unlike the western approach that utilizes the diaphragm for breath support, Central Asians often rely more on their throats to sing, (Flamenco singing is the West's closest equivalent to this technique; indeed, some scholars contend that Middle Eastern styles influenced flamenco). Throat techniques vary over different regions. The Iranian and Azerbaijani mugham singers, for instance call their technique chahchah or jahjah, wherein the artist is said to, be imitating a nightingale. In Tuva, a remote republic in the Russian Federation, a single throat - singer can make several simultaneous groaning tones, creating a wonderfully odd style that to the uninitiated ear sounds like a one-man barbershop quartet of demented ventriloquists.
