Some collectors have joined together to promote the hobby and network with trading partners in the Road Map Collectors Association. Begun just a few years ago, this group now boasts over 300 members, and holds its annual map swap meet near Chicago to give collectors a chance to visit with each other and learn more about the hobby.

It is always a wise idea to keep a road map handy. If you are traveling to areas in which you are unfamiliar, a road map can be a real lifesaver. Getting lost in an unfamiliar location is no fun and can become very frustrating to a weary traveler.

Motor Carriers' Road Atlas – Has the same maps as the regular Road Atlas but designated truck routes are highlighted and has state-by-state information pertinent to professional drivers. Extensive mileage chart has over 40,000 truck route city-to-city mileages.
