Stryker," "9 to 5," and "The Cosby Mystery Series." At present she is one of the leads in the highly acclaimed HBO series "Oz," and has recently completed a pilot for a new CBS series.

Whether on stage or screen, Moreno displays a deep commitment to illuminating the ability of the arts to transform people. She was a featured artist for many years on "The Electric Company," the highly successful children's education program. She broke racial and gender barriers through her portrayals of an Irish teacher, Italian widow, evangelist, English lady and southern belle, helping pave the way for non-traditional casting of Latinas. In 1993 Moreno performed at President Clinton's inauguration, and later that month accepted an invitation to return to Washington, D.C. to perform at the White House.

Moreno received a Grammy award for her contribution to The Electric Company soundtrack album in 1972. Three years later, she garnered a Tony for her performance in the Broadway show The Ritz. In 1977 and ’78, she won Emmy awards for her roles on Sesame Street and The Rockford Files, respectively.
