As the name suggests, monophonic Ringtones are those which are simple and made of simple tones being played at a time. Polyphonic ringtones are those that are complex and a lot of tunes being played at a time. True ringtones are the actual tune of the song/melody and sound like the original song itself.
Because of the technology format, songs that make great ringtones ... need to have simple layers.
