"Ringo Starr" was a natural stage name for a young man who'd grown up loving Western movies (he particularly admired Gene Autry, the "singing cowboy"). Considered moving to Texas, before joining The Beatles.

Former Beatle Ringo Starr, who was in The Beatles, has used an interview with people interested in his time in The Beatles to complain that people only want to talk to him about one thing. The ex-Beatle raged: "Some days I'm just fed up with The Beatles," Starr explained.

Starr is left-handed yet plays a right-handed kit; his tendency to lead with his left hand contributes to his distinctive drumming style. Lennon described Starr as being the "heart" of the Beatles.[2]
"Retrospect" is an exquisitely crafted lithograph that is hand autographed by Ringo Starr himself!! The artwork features five distinct portraits of Ringo throughout his career, from the time he joined the Beatles in 1962 to the present. Renowned portrait artist Bart Forbes created the original artwork. Each piece will be personally hand-signed and numbered by the artist. Ringo added his own personal touch by creating the design on the artwork’s mat border (stars & drumsticks, what else?).

Ringo was always considered the accidental Beatle, the classic example of being in the right place at the right time, and few expected his solo career to amount to much. But in fact he cranked out Top 10 singles for the next half-decade after the Beatles' demise, writing some catchy singalong tunes like "It Don't Come Easy," and getting assistance from big-name friends, including but not limited to the rest of the Fab Four. He ran out of steam amid a morass of personal problems in the late 70s, and dropped off the scene for almost a decade, before resurfacing as a superstar oldies act.
