Ringo Starr is returning to Canada in June to rehearse for and then launch his latest All-Starr tour in support of his just released album, Liverpool 8. Starr toured again in mid-2006, with an All-Starr Band featuring Sheila E. on percussion, bassist Hamish Stuart (formerly of the Average White Band and Paul McCartney's touring band), and Edgar Winter. The tour was underway on Starr's 66th birthday, July 7, 2006, when the All-Starr Band performed in Clearwater, Florida.

According to The Independent, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton and Pete Townsend teamed up to play a New Year's Eve gig together at an unnamed location in Surrey, with proceeds going to charity.
