Ricky Rudd Home, Automotive, Tailgating and Novelties Ricky Rudd driver of the Robert Yates #88 Snickers Ford, started racing the Cup Series in 1977. That same year, Ricky won the Rookie of the Year honors. In 1992, Rudd won the IROC (International Race of Champions) Championship. At the start of the 2007 season, Ricky Rudd had recorded 29 poles, 23 wins, and 19 top 10 finishes.

Ricky Rudd returns to the Nextel Cup series as the oldest full-time driver, two months senior to Dale Jarrett, the driver he replaced at Robert Yates Racing. The number of full-time drivers 50 years of age or older will jump to three when Sterling Marlin's birthday hits in June. The oldest driver at Daytona this week is Bill Elliott at 51.

After many rumors and speculation, Rudd was hired to pilot the #28 Texaco/Havoline Ford Taurus for Robert Yates Racing for 2000. Although he still did not win that season, he had two poles and moved to fifth in the points standings. In 2001, Rudd got his first win in three years at Pocono Raceway, followed by another victory late in the season at Richmond. He ... matched a career-high 14 top-five finishes. He won his most recent race at Infineon in 2002, but dropped to tenth in the standings. Rudd left Yates at the end of the 2002 season.
Ricky Rudd and Robert Yates Racing have announced that they will reunite for the 2007 NEXTEL Cup season. Rudd retired from NASCAR after the 2005 season but will be back full-time in 2007 driving the Snickers Ford for Robert Yates.
