Dr. Zebra ... remembers the sweat on Nixon's upper lip during the speech. A commentator at the time said it was a chronic problem for Nixon, but in this case no attempt was made to disguise it.

Nixon was ... no champion of women's rights. He read a book by H.G. Wells which led him to say that "Wells has the feeling that the solution to all problems is education for everyone, and that's a terrible idea, especially for women."
