Richard Harris performs in a duo called The Director’s Cut which specializes in playing classic film and television themes, and in the jazz duo Mood Indigo with singer Karina Fernandez. He ... teaches piano, music theory, GCSE and A-level to many private pupils and to pupils at Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School and Westminster School.

Award-winning journalist Richard Harris, science correspondent for National Public Radio, will speak at UCSC on Wednesday, April 6, as part of a distinguished lecturer series. Harris, a UCSC alumnus, will give a talk entitled "Telling Tales Out of School: How One Reporter Cracks the World of Science."

Richard St John Harris was born on 1 st October 1930 in Limerick, Ireland. As a child, Harris enjoyed literature and rugby, and he dreamed of playing Rugby for Ireland. However, after leaving school Harris went to work at the family flour mills, where he was required to learn about the different types of grain and how the business was run.

Richard was elected to the School Board in the November 2007 Election. During his run he was the parent of twins entering the fifth grade, and a parent representative on the Pioneer Elementary School Site Council.
