Dogs aren't the cuddly companions they're thought to be in this chilling horror film starring Yvette Mimieux, Richard Crenna and Ken Kercheval. Instead, the titular canine is actually man's worst enemy, as it leaves a wake of death, despair and destruction in the place it once called home. Overtaken by a ghostly presence, the animal attempts to co-opt the souls of its owners, who are nearly paralyzed by fear and defeat.

The climate is harsh and unforgiving. Even in summer, when the sun never sets, it remains so cold that the sea is littered with icebergs.
