Beem steadied himself and reeled off six straight pars before moving into red numbers with consecutive birdies at Nos. 8 and 9. He gave those shots right back, though, as he made his way toward the Amen Corner.

When told that Choi was using an oversized putting grip that he bought after watching an informercial, Beem noted that he didn't have anything to match that, but did have a funny story about an informercial. Long story short, he said a friend of his bought some memory-help tapes, forgot about them, then ordered another set a few months later after watching the same informercial.
