The Rhythm Devils are re-forming in 2006 for a series of appearances beginning this August. After hosting this year's Jammy's in New York City, Mickey & Bill decided to take The Rhythm Devils to the next level. Although they existed within The Grateful Dead for over three decades, this will mark the first time The Rhythm Devils have appeared as a touring group outside of the Dead. The Rhythm Devils welcomed many special guests at their inaugural appearances in New York City that included Mike Gordon, Charlie Musselwhite, Babba Maal, Angelique Kidjo, Steve Kimock, Stephen Perkins, and The Mutaytor.

Rhythm - N - Motion (rNm), directed by Brent and Amanda Herron, is the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 ACHF National Champion Clogging team. The team's home is Cookeville, TN, but rNm consists of dancers from over 20 Middle Tennessee cities that showcase modern clogging while preserving clogging’s traditional heritage. The National Champions have won numerous competitions throughout the southeastern United States, have made multiple appearances on the Grand Ole Opry, and perform at various charitable events throughout the region.

With the release of the Rhythm Nation 1814 album, Jackson fulfilled her contract with A&M Records, and much to the fury of A&M, signed a new deal with Virgin Records. In May 1992 Janet recorded a song with Luther Vandross and featuring Bell Biv Devoe and Ralph Tresvant entitled "The Best Things in Life Are Free" for the Mo' Money original motion picture soundtrack. The single was released in the summer of 1992 and became a hit, peaking in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and going to #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. The soundtrack single would be the sole recording from Jackson until the following spring when the first single from her fifth studio album would be released.
