Resident Evil 3: Nemesis: Zombies
built 215 days ago
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis appears to have all the elements in place to become yet another classic. The success of the original game and its sequel has already spawned numerous imitations in the horror survival game genre. However, few games have been able to successfully replicate the spooky sounds and tension-building storyline of the original. It is ... worth noting that this zombie-filled game does contain blood and gore that parents may feel is inappropriate for younger children.

When you start the game, you'll have two alternatives: You can play the Mercenaries Mini-game, or the complete Resident Evil 3 scenario. If you choose the first option, you'll get to choose one of three available mercenaries. When you start playing, you'll notice your character has limited time to reach a certain destination. Killing zombies and rescuing civilians will grant you extra time. The civilians will ... give you ammo and other useful objects. When you finish this bonus game you'll get some money to purchase weapons and ammo.

With nothing less than hordes of disgusting, flesh-eating zombies, Capcom's Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is a bloody, gory affair. And the game itself, which is much like an action-packed role-play game, is not all that compelling to play.

Resident Evil 3 gives the die-hard gamer plenty of zombies to shoot at, as well as other mutations, several of which are definite bosses. Toss in confused mercenaries, a double agent, and one mean, nasty, and totally obsessed boss, and you have the makings of several hours worth of great playing.

As for sound, Resident Evil 3 should put a scare or two into anyone who's never played the game before. All of the usual screams, zombie grunts and groans, and various environmental sound effects are present in the game, but perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of the game's aural presentation is the music--whenever Nemesis drops into a room, the music changes to a much more dramatic theme, and a subdued version of that theme will continue to play when Nemesis is still nearby. The voice acting is still pretty bad, but it does get the basic story elements across.
