Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is the sequel to the largely popular Resident Evil 2. The game was released on September 22, 1999 in Japan, and continues the story of Raccoon City's virus outbreak, but focuses on Jill Valentine (one of the protagonists from Resident Evil) and her escape from the city. This title is referred to as a "midquel", since the first half of the game occurs 24 hours prior to Resident Evil 2 and the second half taking place the day after. It features a memorable enemy named Nemesis, who stalks the player through the entire game and is encountered either in boss fights, live selections or at random; defeating him is very difficult, but he'll drop a handy reward (gun parts, first aid containers, or even weapons) for players who do. On top of this, the game adds a live selection mode, in which they're prompted to choose between one of two possible actions (a wrong decision can lead to a boss fight or even death).

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis for Gamecube is a direct port of the PlayStation survival horror classic, based on the marginally enhanced Dreamcast re-release. This third title in Capcom's saga of terror begins just hours before Resident Evil 2, and exists as a sort of side game (or sequel/prequel, depending on how you look at it). Jill Valentine, special S.T.A.R.S. operative, reprises her role as the hunted. The faceless evil of the Umbrella Corporation is loose on the streets in the form of genetically mutated undead, and Jill is trapped in the city. The object is simple: avoid becoming a zombie entree and get out of Raccoon City!

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis review Game Over Online - http://www.game-over.com When Resident Evil made its debut for the PlayStation in 1996, it gained instant cult status like a good b-horror flick. Albeit far from a complicated gaming experience, Resident Evil's blend of endless zombie encounters and interesting puzzle designs was a successful recipe, spawning many sequels on various platforms and countless spin-offs. It wasn't long before Capcom ported the Resident Evil series to the PC with aspirations of the kind of success the series acquired on the PlayStation. Unfortunately, most PC gamers didn't buy into the series. Despite Resident Evil's ability to provide chills and thrills, gamers were often disappointed not only by the lack of elaborate gameplay, but mainly due to the fact the series looked dated on the PC. This time around, Capcom has teamed up with Eidos Interactive in an attempt to bring the Resident Evil series to the PC like never before with Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Nemesis was the last core title in the series to be released for the PlayStation and it was ... the final Resident Evil game to take place in Raccoon City until the release of Resident Evil Outbreak. The city's fate is resolved in the game's finale. The US Government, after hearing of unsuccessful efforts to avert the T-Virus infestation, orders the destruction of Raccoon City. At this point in the game, the player has exactly fifteen minutes to escape the city before the missile strikes. In the canon story, Nicholai escapes and, in the end, Jill and Carlos are saved by Barry Burton.

The third installment of the series that redefined the survival horror video game genre, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is the best Resident Evil yet. As Jill Valentine, one of the original game's survivors, players must fight for their lives while fleeing a city overrun by hordes of zombies and other hideous creatures mutated by a sinister corporation's biotechnological virus. To make thing worse, a near-invincible monstrosity known as the Nemesis stalks Jill throughout the game, which raises the series' suspense level to an all-new high.

Resident evil is one of the longest run PlayStation titles out there. It is really a shame that Gamecube is the exclusive RE platform now, because Playstation always did it best. Since th very birth of PS, there has been resident evil, and RE 3 does not dissapoint. RE 3 puts a great new spin on the series, through the arch super villan nemesis. Nemesis (as you can see from the box art) is a menacing tyrant, much like the tyrants in RE 2 out for the lead character Jill's blood. The great part about this game is the difficulty setting.
