The IR Controller allows you to operate up to 16 X10 modules (One House Code) via an infrared remote control and 8 modules via its own buttons on the unit. The modules can be either switched on/off or in the case of lights dimmed. There is ... the facility to switch everything on or off. Use the X10 Pro Remote or IR Codes in your Pronto Remote Control.

You must properly align the URC's infrared (IR) receiver window (located on the bottom end) with the remote control whose commands you want to teach to the URC. Do this with each remote control before you teach its commands to the URC.

On the second wizard page, you get to choose which remote control type to use. If USBUIRT or IRMan is chose, the next screen lists all the buttons that can be learnt. You can choose any button to start learning. A dialog box then shows up and asks you to press the corresponding remote control button. Once pressed, you can choose to keep learning the next remote control button, or stop. Multiple remote control codes can be learnt for the same button.
