In Puerto Rico, WODA-FM / WNOD-FM ("Reggaeton 94") placed #1 overall (18- 34) in the market. WZET-FM / WZMT-FM / WZNT-FM ("Zeta 93") jumped to # 2 in the market (25-54). WMEG-FM / WEGM-FM ("Mega 106.9") increased from a 6.2 to a 7.5 and is # 4 in the target 12-24 demo. The island's biggest gainer was WIOA- FM / WIOB-FM / WIOC-FM ("Estereotempo") which grew from a 3.5 to a 5.2 share among listeners 25-54.

Reggaeton most successful duo, went home with the most sought after awards at last nights Premio Lo Nuesto 2007. Wisin & Yandel won the awards for urban artist of the year and urban song of the year, beating out the genre’s leading contenders. Wisin & Yandel are currently preparing for their upcoming sold out shows March 16 & 17 at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. On another note Wisin & Yandel are in the midst of recording their new album due out fall 2007.

[I]n 2005 Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc (SBS), the nation's largest Hispanic-owned media entity, rebranded Puerto Rico's Onda 94 FM with a new name: "Reggaeton 94" FM, dedicated 24/7 to the perreo music (la musica del perreo). Due to its success in La Isla del Encanto and worldwide, SBS is incorporating reggaeton into the regular programming of local stations across the Nation. This includes WSKQ-FM in New York City, WXDJ-FM in Miami, and Latino 96.3 in Los Angeles -formerly known as KXOL-FM.
