With an ancestor named John Witherspoon who signed the United States Declaration of Independence, Reese Witherspoon was destined for greatness. As a young girl, Reese’s parents allowed her to get modeling gigs as well as star in local television commercials. Reese’s and her parents’ desire to put her talents on display led to Reese placing first in a Ten-State Talent Fair. Upon graduating from the all girls high school Harpeth Hall, Reese went to Stanford University and started on an English degree, but steps to stardom intervened.
