Then again, with the firestorm of controversy over Reese's romance with Jake Gyllenhaal raging like crazy at the moment (and with Mr. Chow's status as the place to be seen grabbing dinner), what kind of reception could she have been expecting?

She starred alongside Meryl Streep, Alan Arkin, Peter Sarsgaard, and Jake Gyllenhaal, playing Isabella El-Ibrahim, the pregnant wife of a bombing suspect. Recently it was reported by a British tabloid that Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal were engaged and planning a wedding. The article cited a source that reportedly said, "Jake popped the question during a romantic trip to Rome last October, but Reese has only just accepted the Brokeback Mountain star’s proposal." Witherspoon’s rep reportedly slammed the rumors saying, "It’s absolutely false. There’s not one ounce of truth to it." Another source claims that Gyllenhaal was recently spotted at Cartier with his sister, Maggie, looking for a ring for Witherspoon. He reportedly ended up buying a "Love" necklace with two rings intertwined.
