The Associated Press reports the Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms with free-agent RP Dan Kolb (Pirates) on a minor league contract. Kolb will earn $650,000 if he's added to the major league roster and $78,000 if he remains in the minors.

Daphne Duret, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Boston Red Sox 2B Alex Cora was jailed briefly Wednesday, Jan. 30, after he turned himself in and was released on a $20,000 bond. Cora was arrested for failing to appear in court in 2001 for a parole violation.
