BARRON RETURNS TO SITE OF FIRST IRL WIN – Red Bull Cheever Racing driver Alex Barron will be returning to the site of his first IndyCar Series victory at Nashville this weekend. Barron, then driving for Blair Racing, took the checkered flag in the 2002 event on the 1.33-mile oval. He has two top five finishes in three races at the track. The California native recently registered his best finish of the season (sixth) on another short oval at Richmond.

After making his CART debut in 1997, he won the Toyota Atlantic championship in 1996, a feat his new teammate Barron did a year later in 1997. His first career CART victory came at Michigan International Raceway in 2001, which is a current stop on the IndyCar Series schedule.

Red Bull Cheever Racing now will look to sweep the front row of an IRL race for the second time in the last two months during MBNA Pole Qualifying at 11 a.m. (EDT) Saturday. Scheckter won the pole, and Cheever started second June 8 at Texas.
