HOUSTON, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears, Roebuck and Co. has contributed $25,000 to the American Red Cross to help with flood relief efforts in Houston. "Many of our associates and customers at our 14 Sears stores in the Houston area are affected by the terrible flooding, and we felt strongly that we wanted to do something locally to help our neighbors in need," said Steve Kendziera, Sears district general manager. "Responding to the communities where we live and work has always been a priority for Sears. This is clearly the time to demonstrate Sears support for the people of Houston." Sears is a national sponsor of the American Red Cross, donating $1 million over five years to disaster relief services throughout the nation.
