Rebecca Rotzler is a high-profile, Green elected official. As Deputy Mayor of New Paltz, she has already shown the world the green way to run a village: environmental improvements, social and economic justice, and the joy of politics. Many greens are interested in seeing Rebecca run for President in 2008. There is a Wikipedia entry about Rebecca Rotzler and her accomplishments which lists her as a 2008 presidential contender.

Rebecca Rotzler, the Deputy Mayor of New Paltz, did not seek a second term in office and will end her term this month. Rebecca has been an unyielding voice for peace and justice and has been one of the Green Party's most public spokespersons against the War in Iraq. She is ... a member of the Steering Committee of the Green Party of the United States. Thank you Rebecca and Jason for bringing innovative Green change to New Paltz, and for inspiring Greens everywhere.
