She is well known for her many guest appearances on TV series and her appearance in the X-Men film series as the shapeshifter Mystique. Romijn attended Berkeley High School before moving on to the University of California at Santa Cruz, where she majored in music (vocal performance). She left school to become a model, eventually moving to France for over two years. She has appeared in Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret.
Rebecca Romijn-Stamos Rebecca Romijn is the blonde model who starred as the sexy mutant Mystique in the X-Men series of movies. Romijn was a major model in the 1990s, perhaps being one small notch below the extra-super status of models like Claudia Schiffer or Linda Evangelista. She gained early fame for appearing in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and Victoria's Secret catalogs. As the century turned she ventured into the movies, playing the blue-skinned superheroine Mystique in the movie X-Men (co-starring with Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry). She reprised her role in the sequels X2 (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). Romijn's other films include Femme Fatale (2002, with Antonio Banderas) and the sci-fi remake Rollerball (2002, with Chris Klein).

Rebecca Romijn photo Rebecca Romijn (pronounced like the lettuce) grew up in the hippie area of Berkeley with her furniture-maker father and public-school-teacher mother, both Dutch. Her parents never expected their Birkenstocks-clad daughter would ditch her studies at UC Santa Cruz to pay the bills via modeling. Although she didn't plan to make a career of it, she quickly landed major fashion contracts, and became a staple of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and the Victoria's Secret catalog. Other than a stint hosting MTV's House of Style, she received mostly small roles on TV and in movies. Of course, until she donned the Mystique "suit" in the X-Men series. Over the years, she's become known for her sense of humor (witness he role as a transvestite magazine editor in TV's Ugly Betty) and her good looks.

Whenever Rebecca Romijn is around, she lights up the stage. Whether it's on the catwalk of a big-time fashion show or on the big screen as a blue-scaled mutant, she's got the looks and the happy-go-lucky attitude needed to make it in a business weary of models trying to act. Rebecca began her career as a model when a scout discovered her while she was studying at the University of Santa Cruz. She quickly jumped on a train to Paris and skipped her way up the modeling ladder, landing a contract with Victoria's Secret, appearing in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and named one of People's 50 Most Beautiful Women in one year alone. She soon met John Stamos on the set of "Full House" and they married shortly after.
