built 273 days ago
Rebecca is a novel by British author Daphne du Maurier. It was published in 1938 and is considered to be one of her best works. It was partially inspired by Jane Eyre.[1][2] Much of the novel was written while she was staying in Alexandria, Egypt where her husband was posted at the time. [3]

Living at Manderley proves to be difficult for the narrator partly because there are reminders of Rebecca everywhere but ... because she is unfamiliar with such grandeur. She is unable to give instructions to the staff effectively and she finds Maxim distant once he is back at work running the estate with Frank. Mrs Danvers runs the household as she did when Rebecca was mistress and although faultless as a housekeeper she makes her contempt for the narrator obvious at every opportunity. It is clear that Rebecca loved the lifestyle that the narrator is struggling with.

Rebecca works with organizations that know the secret to their current and future success is developing key talent long-term -- not in a one- or two-shot quick fix. Long-term behavior change only happens with long-term intervention.
