Reba was born in March 28, 1955. She was born in Chockie, Oklahoma, USA. She is one of four children. Her parents owned a 7,000-acre ranch and participated in rodeos. Reba graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, with a major in elementary education. In 1976, Reba married a rodeo rider, Charlie Battles.
