Randy Bruce Traywick (born May 4, 1959), better known by his stage name, Randy Travis, is an American multiple Grammy Award-winning American country singer. Active since 1985, he has recorded more than a dozen studio albums to date, in addition to charting more than thirty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

Two years later in October 2002, Randy released “Rise And Shine” - a new album filled with the classic Randy Travis sound. For weeks, the CD has been at the top of both the Gospel and Country charts. Gospel radio played the opening track “Raise Him Up,” whereas country radio played “Three Wooden Crosses,” “Pray For The Fish” and the title track “Rise And Shine.” It took several months after its release before country radio began to play the first single “Three Wooden Crosses.” But upon release, it immediately jumped to the number one spot and remained in the Top Ten for weeks - giving Randy his first number one in almost five years. Of the other songs, “When Mama Prayed,” was featured in the final episode of Touched By An Angel in which Randy made his final guest appearance. Those who were lucky enough to get an early copy of “Rise And Shine” were able to get a bonus DVD featuring the making of the album and interviews with Randy concerning his faith. In the DVD, Randy expressed that his eyes had been opened to Music Ministry.

In 1982 (1982 in music), Travis recorded his debut album Randy Ray Live and he began to get played on the radio. 1985 saw "1982" become a radio hit, followed by his breakthrough album, Storms of Life (1985 in music). In the late 1980s, he had a whole string of hits including "Forever and Ever, Amen", "No Place Like Home" and "Diggin' Up Bones". Two years in a row, he won the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance, for the album Always And Forever in 1988, and for Old 8 x 10 in 1989. By 1992... Travis was no longer charting high as Clint Black, Garth Brooks and others had taken over Nashville. He returned with 1994's This Is Me and the hit single "Whisper My Name" (1994 in music). His latest albums are 2000's Inspirational Journey, a collection of religious songs (2000 in music) and 2003's Worship and Faith.

Legacy Music performing artist Krystal Lupo opened for Randy Travis and - among other songs - belted an amplified version of "Coming Home" accompanied by the Legacy Music band. Legacy Music expects to release Lupo's latest CD next month. This is the first time one of the company's artists has opened for a national touring band. "I am grateful to Cornerstone Church, Trey Merrill and mainly Randy Travis for having given me this amazing opportunity," Lupo said.
