Ralph Fiennes’ work has ranged from thrillers to animated Biblical epic to campy nostalgia to romantic comedy and offbeat ‘dramedy’. The typical films are Red Dragon, The Prince of Egypt, The Avengers, Maid in Manhattan and Oscar and Lucinda. Both Fiennes and Miranda Richardson received critical compliments for their performances in David Cronenberg's award-winning thriller Spider in 2002. The Constant Gardener, set in the slums of Kibera and Loiyangalani, Kenya and released in 2005, with Fiennes as the title role gave him a noble portrait.
In 1993, Ralph Fiennes burst upon the international film scene with his riveting—and almost picture-stealing—performance as SS Commandant Amon Goeth in Steven Spielberg's Holocaust drama, Schindler's List. Certainly, Goeth was not the first despicably evil Nazi ever depicted on screen—just as Schindler's List was not the first Hollywood film to portray the heroic actions of individuals caught up in the Nazi scourge.
Ralph Fiennes is headed to the West End to star in Yasmina Reza’s new play, The God of Carnage. The piece is expected to begin performances at the Gielgud Theatre on 7 March.
With his electrifying gaze, elegant comportment, and lips that look as if they could breathe life into concrete, Ralph Fiennes has caused many a jaded filmgoer to reaffirm the existence of British sex appeal Ralph Fiennes was born on 22 December, 1962 in Suffolk, England. Decided to give up his other love painting to pursue acting, Ralph (pronounced "Rafe" like "safe") studied at RADA and went on to receive critical kudos for his Shakespearean performances.

Since he burst onto the movie scene in the early 90s, Ralph (that’s pronounced “Rafe”) Fiennes has raised the bar in movie acting. Few actors are better at conveying the physical impact of emotional upset. Waves of feeling seem to pass through Fiennes’s characters in Schindler’s List, Quiz Show, The English Patient, The End of the Affair and in the upcoming The White Countess (directed by James Ivory from a script by Kazuo Ishiguro). His performances are animated in the most surprising and moving ways: with Fiennes, a smile or a turn of the head can embody a world of heartbreak. An adventurous artist who thrives on challenges, Fiennes is ... blessed with one of the most musical vocal instruments in movies, and he employs it to devastating effect.

Other highlights included a joint AZN/Remy Martin tribute to the Lifetime Achievements of the late producer Ismail Merchant, which featured taped presentations from Merchant's long-time partner James Ivory, Naomi Watts, Ralph Fiennes and Natasha Richardson. Also, Ralph Macchio hosted the memoriam to the late actor Pat Morita. Live performances during the event included Fort Minor, featuring Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park; the original cast of the Broadway musical "Lennon" and the latest Cirque du Soleil show "KA."
