Medicines that fight heart disease and treat cancer patients are made from rainforest plants. Aspirin originally came from the rainforest. A flower called the rosy periwinkle helps treat children with Leukemia ( a kind of cancer).

The soil in the rainforest is nutrient-rich. The warm, wet conditions cause vegetation and animals to rot very quickly once they've died. Decaying plants and animals get recycled back into the soil.
