Radar Detectors and GPS units installed in cars with a heat reflective (athermic) or solar reflective coating will not work without an additional antenna. These coatings over the glass are designed to keep UV rays out but ... reflect satellite and radar signals. Please note that heated windscreens with metal elements in the glass, like Fords, are OK. If you are unsure about your windscreen please call for advice or check with your local dealer.
