While most passenger car drivers don't need to worry about the legality of their radar detectors, the situation is different for professional drivers, since radar detectors are banned by Federal law in trucks over 10,000 pounds. The Beltronics STi Driver is unsurpassed in hiding its presence from radar detector detectors (RDDs), with tests showing no readings all the way to the radar gun, even when the latest RDD is used. The STi Driver is a solid performer in most other ways as well, picking up radar signals far enough away from the gun to give drivers lots of time to slow down. It's ... a good performer when it comes to laser detection, though not quite as good as the Escort 9500i, and it is significantly inferior to the Valentine One in that regard.
