Rachel McAdams (born October 7, 1976) is a Canadian actress. Biography McAdams was born in London, Ontario, and grew up in nearby St. Thomas. Her father, Lance, is a truck driver, and her mother, Sandy (Sandra), is a nurse. She has a younger sister, Kayleen, and younger brother, Daniel. At the age of four, she took up competitive figure skating. She took up acting at age thirteen at a summer theater camp.

Rachel McAdams was born in London, Ontario in Canada, but grew up in the small town of St. Thomas, Ontario. At a very early age, Rachel began her performance career. She started figure skating when she was just four, and soon her need to show off in front of an audience led her to auditioning for local plays. She eventually joined the Original Kids Theatre Company in London, Ontario, which led her to major in Theatre Arts at York University.
