Rachel Mcadams: Movies

McAdams had come out at the same time as Julia, Julia would have been Magic Johnson, but Rachel would have been Larry Bird. Maybe Magic won more titles, but everybody knows that Larry was the better player. Also, and this can’t be stressed enough, it was easier to become a movie star in the 80’s and 90’s. There was no internet, no US Magazine, and there wasn’t 300 hundred recognizable names like there are today. Back then, if you headlined a couple movies you were a mega-star, even if you didn’t deserve it (see Winona Ryder as a prime example).

Writer/director Ira Sachs had high praise for Married Life star Rachel McAdams at the films Los Angeles press junket. When we cast the part of Kay, it was pretty easy to say, We need a woman who could walk into a room and within the first instant of the movie, we understood why two men fall desperately in love with her, ruin their lives and ... why the audience does the same. Theres a lot of beautiful women, but not a lot of people who can carry that scene, said Sachs.
