Compensation Plan: Quixtar's compensation plan is the same as Amway's compensation plan. See Amway review for more info on comp plan. What would have been an incredible development is a completely different compensation plan that is based on current industry trends. Although Quixtar has enjoyed strong first year sales, with a large percentage probably coming from Amway distributors, a redesigned and up to date compensation plan would have generated much more excitement from the network marketing industry and perhaps could have fueled one of the biggest sign up rates in the history of this industry. Can you imagine what the response would have been to a completely new opportunity with a completely different comp plan backed by the strength and longevity of the Amway Corporation?

The Dateline show examined the training and support provided by Quixtar IBO leaders and the income they derive from those materials. As Quixtar informs all new IBOs, these materials are optional and covered by satisfaction guarantees. Quixtar ... notifies IBOs that others earn income from these materials. In the end, individuals must decide for themselves if they find these materials of value.

The way to buy products at Quixtar's web site is with a referral number from an IBO. In addition Quixtar gives IBOs the option to create free personal websites to help grow their business. Quixtar offers site pages that can be personalized to create Health, Beauty, Health & Beauty, and/or Gift & Incentive e-commerce sites. The referring IBO then receives the retail/wholesale difference (usually 30%), and a percentage ("bonus") of the cost of the sold goods (from 3% up to 31% depending on total PV generated), with Quixtar-exclusive products yielding a higher bonus per dollar in PV/BV Point Value and Business Value. Quixtar offers a wide range of products for its IBOs to purchase for personal use and/or to sell to customers through Quixtar.com and IBO personal e-commerce sites.

Several IBO's are suing Quixtar in a California court, accusing the company of being an illegal pyramid scheme. Quixtar attorney Ed Bardelli denies the allegations and says some IBO's just want to have their cake and eat it too. He told the judge, “They do want to keep one foot in Quixtar. They want to be a Quixtar IBO. They want to recruit people into Quixtar. But they ... want to have this TEAM organization over here that says Quixtar is an illegal pyramid scheme."
