Quetzalcoatl: Return
built 199 days ago
The return of Quetzalcoatl has been the focus of many studies and pseudo-studies of his mythology. The evidence is much, much, more problematic. See the section on the return of Quetzalcoatl for the evidence in the sources.
Tormented with remorse, Quetzalcoatl wandered in self-imposed exile for twenty years and then ended up near what is today the Gulf port of Coatzocoalcos. There he said goodbye to a loyal band of weeping disciples, promising to return at some future time. He sailed for Yucatan, where he became equally admired by the Maya, who called him Kulkulcan. Finally, some thirty years later, he died by immolating himself on a self-made funeral pyre.

If a calendar falls short of delivering the above promises then it is not the Calendar of Quetzalcoatl. Of course, many will recognize some of the above promises as household beliefs of several spiritual and religious traditions. Yet, in such traditions they are mostly presented as “nice thoughts”, more or less wishful thinking for which there is little substantial evidence. The return of the calendar of Quetzalcoatl – the combination of the True Tzolkin count with the tun-calendar – ... provides reliable proof for everyone who seriously seeks an answer to the question what life is all about. To “believe” in the teachings of prophets, gurus, priests or scriptures will become irrelevant. The truth of the Calendar of Quetzalcoatl is independent of beliefs.

Cortez's coming was mistaken for the return of Quetzalcoatl. (This may have been helped by the same Franciscans, but this story may ... have started much later according to sources that have reexamined the old texts for clues.) This made it easier for him to conquer the native peoples.
Feeling that the level of brutality would be too much for even the Klingon government, Kenka used Quetzalcoatl as a scapegoat for the genocide on Hrakkour. The Klingons forced the Federation to bring Quetzalcoatl to Hrakkour for trial, and Admiral Kenka attempted to have Quetzalcoatl executed. An advanced being known as Bialbi intervened and stopped the execution. Bialbi would've executed Kenka, but Captain Kirk intervened and Bialbi relented - ordering Kenka to leave Hrakkour and never return on pain of death. Following this, the Enterprise returned Quetzalcoatl to his home.
