Quests: Rewards
built 264 days ago
Quests are a major portion of the solo and small-group content in World of Warcraft. Players will experience the lore and story of World of Warcraft by doing quests all across Azeroth. In addition to their content and challenges, quests give rewards of experience, gold, and items.

Quests are groups of interrelated tasks that can be completed for rewards such as items, skills, experience, or quest points. They are labelled with a blue star or compass rose icon on your Minimap. Quests can be played only once, not like minigames which can be repeated.
Quests that have been accepted appear in the player’s quest log, color coded by difficulty level. The details of each accepted quest -- including the quest’s requirements, which NPC to speak with once those requirements are satisfied, and the reward(s) that will be available – are easily accessible in the log. Quests can be abandoned at any time, and they can easily be reacquired as well. Furthermore, quests are divided up in the log by region to help players identify which ones to work toward completing depending on where they happen to be in the world.
Quests that do not fall into any of these categories are just called quests. They generally reward you with some experience, some gold, and a few items, though the exact mixture of these three rewards vary depending on the quest.
The current quests a player has The newest quest engine, which was introduced in Ultima Online: Mondain's Legacy, allows for hundreds of new quest options, including the opportunity to engage in multiple quests at the same time. Some quests are very simple in nature - seek out a certain monster and kill it, for example. Others require you to explore new dungeons or areas of mystery. Still others involve crafting, and reward you with new runic kits or crafting recipes. You can even change your race through questing. The quest opportunities are endless and there is something for everyone.

Daily quests (popularly nicknamed [D]ailies) are repeatable quests first introduced in patch 2.1. These quests have significantly better rewards than normal repeatable quests. Patch 2.2.0 saw the introduction of more daily quests for seasonal events. In Patch 2.3 new daily quests were introduced for instances, battlegrounds and cooking.
