Quests: Characters

Quests are specific requests from individuals, shops, or organizations, and you may accept or decline as you wish. The conditions for most quests are fairly loose, and typically do not require you to have a specific job level, ability, or allegiance. Quests rarely result in worthwhile monetary gain, but the trust and respect that your character will gain are priceless. BCNMs, ENMs, and ISNMs are the exception to this rule as they are generally sought out by players for the purpose of monetary gain.

Quests continued in modern literature. Many, perhaps most, stories can be described as a quest in which the main character is seeking something that he desires,[11] but the literal structure of a journey seeking something is, itself, still common. Quests often appear in fantasy literature,[12] as in Rasselas by Samuel Johnson, or The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, where Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion go on a quest for the way back to Kansas, brains, a heart, and courage respectively.[13]

With a full suite of quests that will take new characters from levels 1 – 20, Darklight Wood is an evil doers dream! Buried deep within the forest of Nektulos, Darklight Wood has remained well hidden from prying eyes for over 300 years after the destruction of the First Gate and Neriak's Foreign Quarter. Newly created characters loyal to Neriak will start in Hate's Envy, an outpost in Darklight Wood.

Typical quests involve killing a set number of creatures or collecting a list of specific items. Some quests may take only a few minutes or hours to complete, while others may take several days or weeks. Often, the larger the reward, the longer the quest takes to finish, and it is common for a quest to require characters to be a certain level before they are allowed to begin.

The quests range from simple puzzles to intricate mud wide quests to challenge your mind and your character's ability. They may require mere minutes or weeks to complete. Some throw a new twist at you every time, while others are steady and reliable in their clues.

Classic: Several of the Classic quests do not use the new quest engine. The older quest engine is accessed through your character's Context Menu. Classic quests can only be done one at a time.
