Putty

Putty nosed guenons are the largest of the African forest guenons. Their extremely long tail (up to 1 meter) assists with balance as they negotiate the upper canopy of the rainforest. Although generally considered high canopy species, they are somewhat adaptable in their choice of habitat... and can be observed in middle and lower canopy swamp forest as well as upper canopy high forest. They form multispecies foraging groups with other primates, including red-eared and mona guenons.

Silly Putty is ... a fairly good adhesive. When newspaper ink was easier to rub off, Silly Putty could be used to transfer newspaper images to other surfaces, possibly after introducing distortion. Newer papers are more resistant to this activity.

The Putty developers classified a tabbed window project as low priority. The purpose of this petition is to ask them to begin work on it immediately. Only by seeing how many people actively want a tabbed version of Putty will persuade the developers that this is a feature worth working on.

[F]or a really big bang, Putty can turn himself into a smart bomb to take out all the opposition on screen at once. Waggling the joystick furiously causes Putty to expand to superPutty proportions before blowing up, wiping out everything else.
Silly Putty isn't unique. A thick mixture of cornstarch and water behaves the same: move slowly and it can be stirred easily, pound it suddenly and it locks up into a dry solid. There are many such materials in existence. Dilatant compounds are even being explored by the military as a possible material for bullet-resistant armor that would be flexible enough of the wearer to move freely yet would lock up if something traveling fast, like a bullet, struck it. But back to Silly Putty.
