1. Punk -- Punk Rock
   Punk fashion is the styles of clothing, hairstyles, cosmetics, jewelry, and body modifications of the punk subculture. Punk fashion varies widely from Vivienne Westwood styles to styles modeled on bands like The Exploited. The distinct social dress of other subcultures and art movements, including glam rock, skinheads, rude boys, greasers, and mods have influenced punk fashion. Punk fashion has likewise influenced the styles of these groups, as well as those of popular culture.
2. The Mekons -- Punk Rock
   The Mekons are the most revolutionary group in the history of rock 'n' roll. They are ... the finest artists ever to have graced this admittedly somewhat degenerate form with the grace of their aesthetic sensibilities, rarefied as a glimpse through a butterfly's wing. The muses gobbled cantharides for these fellows. Collectively they compromise a kind of Sistine Chapel ceiling neath which the pathetic mess of pottage which is commonly snickered off as the 'rock scene' from PiL to Black Oak Arkansas, can but swash buboed forearms cross their offal-crusted snouts and recommence to grovel together in the La Brea-trackless depths of corporate swill.
3. Sebadoh -- Punk Rock
   The monster in Sebadoh occasionally surfaces, sometimes in the middle of quieter tracks such as Scars, Four Eyes whose fabric, sown together by Cure-like bass runs, is ripped through by roared vocals. And there are bursts of punk rock, weed-obssessed slow jazz ramblings and mid-tempo grunge/New Wave numbers, and yet again and again the album settles down to a more intimate wash of sung poems over cheap guitars and improvised percussion.
4. Punk
   Punk fashion has been extremely commercialized at various times, and many well-established fashion designers — such as Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier — have used punk elements in their production. Punk clothing, which was initially handmade, became mass produced and sold in record stores and some smaller specialty clothing stores by the 1980s. By the late 1990s, the American chain store Hot Topic established a niche in selling what they advertised as "punk style clothing" at shopping malls. Many fashion magazines and other glamor-oriented media have featured classic punk hairstyles and punk-influenced clothing. These have caused controversy, as many punks view it as having sold out; those wearing such clothes are often not considered real punks, although they are commonly accepted in pop punk and skatepunk circles.
5. Rock Music -- Punks
   Rock music comes in many forms, stretching and twisting, dancing through the decades. From Bill Haley and His Comets to Elvis and The Beatles, from rock and roll and folk rock to punk rock and rap, rock music has accompanied youth through its adolescence into adulthood. Today is the birthday of several rockers, including Phil Lesh (66), Mike Love (65), Sly Stone (62), Ry Cooder (59), Terence Trent D'Arby (44), Mark Hoppus (34), Joseph Hahn (29) and Young Buck (25).
6. Punk -- Daft Punk
   Iggy Pop, Duran Duran and Daft Punk are among the musicians who have designed T-shirts to raise money for political charity Rock The Vote. The stars have all come up with their own take on the world-famous Playboy magazine 'bunny' logo for the 2008 Playboy Rock The Rabbit T-shirt series.
7. The Ramones -- Punks
   Les Ramones ont influencé à leur tour d'autres groupes tels que les Clash et les Sex Pistols. Sid Vicious a dit que sa reprise de "My Way" a totalement été influencée par les Ramones. 8. Ramones -- Punks
   The Ramones may not have been as outrageous as the Sex Pistols or as smart as the Clash, but boy, they sure were fun! Filled with pinheads, cretins, and other assorted losers in need of medication, their version of the human condition wasn't pretty, or hopeful, or even cool. But that wasn't the point. Or rather, there was no point. Just two minutes, three chords, and attitude. Today punk rock, tomorrow the world.
9. Daft Punk
   Although the group had only released a trio of singles ("The New Wave" and "Da Funk," as well as the 1996 limited pressing of "Musique"), in early 1996 Daft Punk were the subject of a minor bidding war. The group eventually signed with Virgin, with their first long-player, Homework, appearing early the following year (a brief preview of the album, "Musique," was ... featured on the Virgin compilation Wipeout XL next to tracks from Photek, Future Sound of London, the Chemical Brothers, and Source Direct). As with the earlier singles, the group's sound is a brazen, dancefloor-oriented blend of progressive house, funk, electro, and techno, with sprinklings of hip-hop-styled breakbeats and excessive, crowd-firing samples, similar to other anthemic dance-fusion acts such as the Chemical Brothers and Monkey Mafia. In addition to his role in Daft Punk, Bangalter operates the Roule label and has recorded under his own name (the underground smash "Trax on da Rocks") as well as Stardust (the huge club/commercial hit "Music Sounds Better with You"). After four long years of eagerly awaiting a follow-up to their brilliant debut, Daft Punk finally issued Discovery in March 2001. The live record Alive 1997 followed near the end of the year, and a by now predictable four-year wait preceded the release of Human After All in early 2005.
10. Punk Fashion
    After the shocking rebellion of the 1970's, the punk fashion scene underwent a revolution of its own and began to focus more on functionality than shock factor. Dr. Martens and combat boots (often with steel toes) became the footwear of choice among the majority of punk followers. Plaid skirts, torn jeans, and heavy chains were the most common items worn during the 1980's.
