Pumpkins: Circles
built 286 days ago
Pumpkins and gourds are embellished with beautiful patterns, fascinating knots and colorful stripes. To bring these natural patterns to life, turn smaller pumpkins and gourds with sturdy bases into candleholders. Cut a circle out of the top, sprinkle a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg inside and place a tealight candle in the interior. Once the candles are lit, the spices will burn a pleasant aroma. In addition, smaller pumpkins can serve as placecard holders. Cut a slit in the stem to hold a name card or paint guests' names directly on the pumpkin itself to liven any dinner table.
You will need two bean bag pumpkins. Form two circles. One leader in each circle holds a beanbag. On “Go,” each begins passing the pumpkin around the circle. First circle to have the pumpkin back to the leader is the winner.
pumpkin pie Miniature pumpkins make impressive individual baking and serving dishes. Cut a circle out around the stem (as you would when carving a Jack-O-Lantern) and scrape out the seeds and pulp. Scrape out some of the flesh from the sides of the pumpkin as well, in order to make room for your stuffing. Keep the lids in tact. Place pumpkins and lids in a baking dish and add about an inch of water. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes.
