Legal professionals have expressed an interest in studying complaints from women who have experienced a loss of bone density and have taken or currently take Depo-Provera. If you are currently taking Depo-Provera, it might be advisable to discuss a bone density test with your physician or medical advisors. If you are taking or have taken Depo-Provera injections and subsequently suffered a loss of bone density, been diagnosed with Osteoporosis or suffered a bone fracture please fill out this form and an attorney will review your complaint for possible inclusion in a legal action being considered.

Health Canada's public advisory states, "The data indicate that women who use Depo-Provera may lose significant bone mineral density. The longer Depo-Provera is used, the more bone mineral density may be lost. Bone mineral density may not return completely once use of Depo-Provera has been discontinued."

DEPO PROVERA: In 1991, researchers at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, announced evidence that bone loss is associated with the use of Depo Provera. These same researchers now report that estrogen deficiency is the cause of the bone loss.
If you use Depo-Provera, it may help your bones if you take regular weight-bearing exercise and have a healthy diet, including an adequate intake of calcium (e.g. in dairy products) and vitamin D (e.g. in oily fish).
