A special feature of the Prometheus Web Access system is its handling of predefined reports. Reports can be created using the Prometheus Desktop Client and then simply copied into an appropriate folder on the web site. The system presents these reports to the user as an expandable tree of folders and stored reports. A single click on a stored report presents the user with a tabbed display showing a description of the query, notes associated with the data, and the multiple tables, maps and graphs specified in the report. The repository of predefined reports provides an excellent way for corporations to disseminate key analyses and information across the entire organisation.

Prometheus snuck into Olympus at night through the back entrance that Athena had told him of. He made his way to the Chariot of the Sun and lit a torch from the fires that burned there. Extinguishing the torch, Prometheus carried the still hot coals down the mountain in a pithy fennel stalk to prevent being seen. Upon reaching the lands of Men, Prometheus gave to them the coals, breaking Zeus' order by giving fire to Man.

Prometheus had sired the human man named Deucalion, one of the noble couple whom Zeus had spared when he caused the creatures of the earth to be destroyed by a flood. Deucalion was married to his cousin, the human woman Pyrrha, daughter of Epimetheus and Pandora. During the flood, Deucalion and Pyrrha stayed safely on a boat like Noah's ark. When all the other evil humans had been destroyed, Zeus caused the waters to recede so that Deucalion and Pyrrha could land on Mount Parnassus. While they had each other for company, and they could produce new children, they were lonely and sought help from the oracle of Themis. Following the oracle's advice, they threw stones over their shoulders. From those thrown by Deucalion sprang men and from those thrown by Pyrrha came women.

Hesiod begins the sacrifice story by noting that Prometheus matched wits with Zeus "when the gods and mortal men fell to disputing / at Mekone" (64, lines 535-6). There are quite a few translations for this phrase. One says that the gods and men "were negotiating" (Lombardo 76), while another says that they "took up their separate positions." Others say they "parted" or "were coming to a settlement." It is clear that the sacrifice trick marks a change in the relations between gods and men. Before, gods used to dine with men, but now, men will dine alone and the gods will accept the smoke of their sacrifices.
