LYCOS RETRIEVER
Project 86

As the name implies, Project 86 has delivered a confrontational 6th full-length, where not a single note, lyric, or track is wasted. This is, for certain, their most song-oriented and diverse release to date, proving that progression through evolution is a divine mandate. The songs are commercial and accessible without sacrificing intensity. Expanding upon their patented sound, there are hints of everything from vintage Danzig, Psychadelic Furs, Joy Division, and early, east-coast hardcore.

Project 86 approaches new material as a group effort with each player doing their part. Dali often brings ideas for songs to rehearsal and Schwab usually writes the lyrics. Schwab takes his time, whether it is hours, days or months, to find just the right words as the tune comes together.

At the outset of its career, Project 86 shared the stage with P.O.D. and Blindside on the Warriors Tour. Project (as the band is often referred to by its fans) has played mainstage at both Christian and secular festivals, and has shared the stage with other well known bands such as Queensrÿche, Linkin Park, Dead Poetic, and Stavesacre.

To defend the Project 86 album as Christian, one must do more than claim that the criticisms made by the album are legitimate. The answer offered must have some contact with the Christian way of salvation, not merely a bunch of postmodern, relativist, conspiratorial and angst-filled websites.

[I]t does appear that with this release Project 86 are intent on keeping everyone on their toes. So, From December enters as a mellow Ill Nino-tinted ballad that manages to steal some of the best elements of Linkin Park's latter efforts without being constructed of purely pirated material.
