Several years ago Progressive Insurance introduced an innovative feature on its Web site: The company compares its premiums with those of three other insurance companies. Why does Progressive share competitive information? Price becomes less important. Ironically, displaying competitors' prices actually makes consumers focus less on price. As consumers do not have to shop other sites for prices, they can actually spend their time learning about how Progressive differentiates itself. It builds trust.

The state-of-the-art Progressive Insurance facility will consist of three connected buildings - two three-story and one two-story. The design emphasizes large, open floor plates for maximum call center use while taking full advantage of dramatic views of Pikes Peak and the front range of the Colorado Rockies. In addition to call center areas, the project provides on-site health care, a cafeteria, a fitness center and corporate offices. The buildings feature a raised-floor system with under-floor air distribution for maximum employee comfort and building efficiency.

Progressive offers their insurance in two different forms. Through Progressive Direct, which is form them, and through a Progressive broker. Now they do this for very good reason. Some people would rather talk to someone in person, whereas some people would like to handle everything themselves online. Despite going through a broker, you could actually save money by going through a broker or by obtaining car insurance directly from progressive. It really does vary as progressive has marketing costs involved with their prices, as well as broker fees if you go through a broker.
