The Princeton Review has partnered with Ohio University to launch a free SAT prep course inside of Second Life. It seems like it's an experimental endeavor aimed at testing demand, but ... at generating more demand for the physical prep classes.

Polner, who had previously worked with a business performance management product, knew it was what Princeton Review needed to get back on track. But it had to be one that the agencies' nontechnical people could easily navigate.
The new rankings and profiles were posted at the Princeton Review web site www.princetonreview.com on Monday, Aug. 16, and the annually updated guide went on sale the next day. The publication reported that more than half a million people visited its Web site last year on the first day the rankings were posted.

"We chose schools primarily for their outstanding academics," said Robert Franek of The Princeton Review. "We evaluated them based on institutional data we collect about the schools, feedback from students attending them, and our visits to schools over the years."
