The prestigious academic publication The Princeton Review released its ratings of top colleges and universities in the United States. HSU was cited as a "Best in the West" university, one of 123 in the western United States, 644 in the nation, and one of only 22 so honored in the state of Texas.

The National Vocabulary Championship is a national academic competition conceived by GSN (Game Show Network) and its educational partner, The Princeton Review. The competition goes beyond traditional 'spelling bees' to test word definitions and overall word comprehension while providing college-bound students with the tools necessary to effectively communicate their ideas to the world. The last of the eight NVC citywide qualifying events prior to the NVC Finals in LA, Bejzak will go head-to-head with 49 other top-scoring students from the more than 100,000 who participated throughout the country on March 10. The winner of the NVC Finals will receive $40,000 toward a "529" higher education savings plan and the title of 2008 National Vocabulary Champion.

Mercer University's towering magnolia trees, immaculate landscape, and stunning architecture have earned it recognition as one of the top five most beautiful campuses in the nation, according to The Princeton Review. Inclusion on the "Most Beautiful Campus" list is only one of three national rankings that Mercer earned in The Best 361 Colleges, the annual college guide published by The Princeton Review. Approximately 15% of the four-year colleges in America are featured in the book. It includes ranking lists of the top 20 colleges in various categories, from academics to political activism.

Hastings College is among the 163 colleges and universities named a 2008 Best College in the Midwestern Region by The Princeton Review. Colleges were selected for inclusion based on two criteria: The Princeton Review’s standards for academic excellence and surveys of current students. Selected schools are profiled on a website that, according to The Princeton Review, “helps over half of university-bound students research, apply to, prepare for, and learn how to pay for their higher education.”

Last Friday, Forbes.com released the results of a Princeton Review survey that ranked RPI America’s Most Connected Campus. Data for the survey was obtained from 357 colleges and universities around the country deemed to be top-tier by the Review. Twenty questions were asked regarding the level of computer connectivity on campus (with a certain point value for each question), with particular emphasis on the presence of a campus-wide network, a wireless network, online class registration, and audiovisual streaming of courses.

The University of North Florida is one of the nation’s best value undergraduate institutions, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company profiles UNF in the 2008 edition of its book, “America’s Best Value Colleges.” The guide profiles 165 colleges chosen for their excellent academics, generous financial aid packages and/or relatively low costs of attendance.
