To eliminate the H. pylori bacteria that cause most duodenal ulcers, Prevacid is taken with amoxicillin alone or amoxicillin and clarithromycin. When combined with amoxicillin only, the usual dosage is 30 milligrams of Prevacid and 1 gram of amoxicillin 3 times daily for 14 days. If all three drugs are used, the usual dosage is 30 milligrams of Prevacid, 1 gram of amoxicillin, and 500 milligrams of clarithromycin twice daily for 10 to 14 days.

Prevacid should not be mixed with all prescription or over the counter medications as there could be undesirable interactions. However, with some drugs that interact with your treatment, it will be enough to change the dosage of either Prevacid or the other medication.
