Predestination
built 639 days ago
Predestination (... linked with foreknowledge) is a religious concept, which involves the relationship between God and His creation. The religious character of predestination distinguishes it from other ideas about determinism and free will. Those who believe in predestination, such as John Calvin, believe that before the creation God determined the fate of the universe throughout all of time and space.

Predestination is a religious idea, under which the relationship between the beginning of things and the destiny of things is discussed. Its religious nature distinguishes it from other ideas concerning determinism and free will, and related concepts. In particular, predestination concerns God's decision to create and to govern the creation, and the extent to which God's decisions determine ahead of time what the destiny of groups and individuals will be.

The purpose of Predestination is to relate the believer to the Plan of God through Positional Truth. Eph. 1:4,5. It is based on the foreknowledge of God, Rom. 8:29. It is an expression of God's love for those who are in union with Christ. Predestination was a sovereign decision on the part of God the Father, Eph. 1:5,11. Jesus Christ has a destiny.

Predestination covers all things. There is no spot where God does not operate. Wherever God operates, there is Predestination. "Being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will." (Eph. 1:11)
