New pricey phone — LG and Prada launch the unaffordable phone — These phones are going to start pouring out of the LG, Samsung, Moto and Nokia factories. This one costs 600 Euros which would have been around $480 before the decline of the dollar — now it would cost more than $750 here. Needless to say they will not be rolling it out in the USA anytime soon. We’re becoming a poor nation that cannot afford such imported luxuries. We’ll buy some cheap Chinese item when it appears on the market.

The LG Prada may have a beautiful design, but its feature set isn't too shabby, either. Let's start with the basics first. The Prada has a large 1,000-entry phone book with room in each entry for four numbers, an e-mail address, and a memo. You can save contacts to groups, assign them a photo for caller ID, and pair them with any of 10 available 40-chord polyphonic ringtones. The LG Prada ... supports MP3 ringtones if you wish to add your own. Other essential features include a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, an alarm clock, a calculator, a world clock, a unit converter, and a calendar.

The LG Prada phone will be available in the UK, France, Germany and Italy as of late February, 2007 with prices starting from 600 EUR. This will be followed by countries in Asia such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore in late March, 2007. The Korean version of the phone is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2007.
